Alumni accolades and SNHU at Franklin Pierce on Sat

Hi HFC/ASC families-

The club was excited to see so many kids and parents playing soccer and equally as excited to see so many parents show up for our season end event that included our Annual General Meeting. The AGM is a chance for our members to come and hear the club’s financial report and a chance to ask the board and Director of Coaching questions they might not otherwise have a chance to ask.  Some things we did not touch upon but feel important we share with our members:

We would like to acknowledge the recent success of the Souhegan HS soccer program:

·         The girls varsity team won the state championship (Div II) with an exciting 2-1 OT win over perennial champs Hanover.  The varsity team had 14 players who came through the ASC/HFC program on the roster, including the top two point leaders.  The team also brought up two ASC/HFC freshmen for the playoffs.

·         Current and former players receiving accolades:  Carolyn Stone and Peyton Kent – 1st Team All-State, Shelby Belak – 2nd Team All-State, and Peyton Kent – Division 2 Tournament MVP.

·         The JV girls team went 9-2 and finished second in the JV tournament falling to Hanover 2-1.  The team consisted of 8  ASC/HFC girls, some who have played together for over 7 years.  The top 2 goal scorers for the JV team are ASC/HFC players.

·         The boys Varsity and JV teams also had a successful season and are proud to have a solid number of ASC/HFC players.

Also worth congratulations, the Wilton boys program recently defended their Div IV state title with the roster having 11 current and former ASC/HFC players, several of which earned post-season recognition.  Two of these players made the first team All State team with two others earning Honorable Mention.

Many HFC/ASC families recently enjoyed watching DOC Marc Hubbard’s Penmen win their game in the NCAA Men’s soccer tournament last Saturday at SNHU.  If anyone has not seen the Penmen you will enjoy their high quality of soccer.  They have advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals against rival Franklin Pierce.  The game is at Franklin Pierce this coming Saturday at 7:00 PM.  Field address: Sodexo Field 40 University Dr. Rindge NH 03461  See you there!

We would also like to remind everyone about our winter training at the Hampshire Dome in Milford starting in January however we do need people to sign up now. https://www.gotsport.com/asp/application/reg/Default.asp?ProgramID=11076&Type=PLAYER

RE: End of Season Party and more...

EDP…Let Karen Erickson know how many adults and children we should plan for at ericksonm1@comcast.net

Thanks!

Dear HFC/ASC Families-

Hope all of you are getting back to normal and survived the storm.  Unfortunately, due to the weather our season year end party was canceled.  We have rescheduled the party for Sunday November 13th from 6:00-8:30 at the Hampshire Dome.   The club will rent field space and will be providing the pizza and drinks.  We are asking families to bring a salad (pasta, green, potato, etc) or a desert if possible.  Players and families come dressed to play.

·         If you could please let your team manager know if you will be attending and how many people so we can plan on the correct amount of pizza.

Also, our Annual General Meeting (AGM) was scheduled for November so we will be combining the two events and will do q quick review of the year, and give families an opportunity to interact with the Board.  During the AGM, families can meet the board and help to chart our future as a club.  We recently acknowledged the great work of two hard-working volunteer – Mike Osborne, and Amy Facey.  We would like to extend our thanks and gratitude for the years of service from Mike (President) and Amy (Registrar) who have resigned their positions.  Both have been instrumental in the daily activities of the club and helping to lead us through the past few years.  We are happy to announce that Molly Dix has taken over as President with Pete Camello filling Molly's seat as Vice President.  Nicole Salvas will be taking over for Amy Facey as Registrar.  Amy will still be involved with the club but at a different level.  We appreciate their years of service, and welcome new volunteers.

Please plan on joining us at the season end party and AGM; HFC/ASC is a volunteer organization and we value the insights and energy of each family.

We look forward to seeing you on November 13, 2011.

·         Also, don’t forget we need to book our space for indoor at the Dome, and need to plan on your player. Register at: https://www.gotsport.com/asp/application/reg/Default.asp?ProgramID=11076&Type=PLAYER

 Respectfully,

HFC/ASC Board of Directors

EDP Update

Hi all-

Please remember that the EDP blog at:  http://asc-edp.blogspot.com/ is a great resource.  The EDP Calendar tab is there as well as philosophy and coaches’ bios.  A few calendar reminders:

·         There WILL BE practice this Friday night.  Players who are playing in the Col Day tournament need to be there if at all possible.  For the tournament, since the teams are not the same as our rosters, please remember you are wearing blue socks, shorts, and camp t-shirts (blue).  If you do not have a blue t-shirt please let me know and we will get you one.

·         NO JAMBOREE on Saturday, and NO PRACTICE on Monday for the holiday weekend.

FW: No EDP tonight September 7, fields are closed

This just in from the town…

Directors, Coaches, Coordinators

Due to standing water, all fields are closed for today’s  practice or games. We have posted on Face Book and amherstrec.org.

We will keep a close eye on them for tomorrow’s use and keep you informed.

This Week in EDP

Hi EDP-
Tonight is our first training session, unless the fields are closed, or there is thunder/lightening.  Some reminders:
1.       This week is Wed and Fri training ONLY – no Sat this week.  We are at Upper Wilkins from 5:15 to 6:30, please be ON TIME, with cleats, ball, and water.  If there is a cancellation we will send an e-mail ASAP.
2.       Check out the new EDP website.  The best feature is that all e-mails are captured there, so if you misplace some information, you can find it at http://asc-edp.blogspot.com/.   So, any cancellations will show up on the website as an e-mail (this will help if your family has multiple e-mail addresses that are not in the new system).
3.       It is not too late for your friends to sign up, encourage them, and these are your future team-mates and the more skills they get now, the better your team will be in the future.
See you on the field!

HFC/ASC Uniform Orders - Samples will be available Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30-10:00 next week at camp for sizing

Hello HFC/ASC,

Uniforms for U10-U14 teams (U9 and below may order any uniform item but is not required

You will be able to view sizes with samples of the uniform and alternative gear (sweatshirts, pants, jackets, backpacks) at camp next week on TUESDAY and THURSDAY only from 8:30-10:00.  You will be able to place or change orders on either of these 2 days.  Even if you ordered online during the registration process, we recommend that you check the sizing for the shirts tend to run big and shorts tend to run small.

We have made some slight changes to the current club logo due to the upper club now going under our Hampshire FC name. This, in combination with our current uniform shorts being discontinued and our red alternative shirt now being long sleeve, has had a slight impact on uniform options. So, the full uniform package will include a white game jersey (short sleeves), red alternative game jersey (long sleeves), Nike shorts and Nike socks for $60 (not included in fall registration fee). Because the uniforms are only a slight variation, players who already have a uniform from past seasons can elect to purchase a new package, purchase new individual items, or stay with their current uniform.

See you at camp on Monday!

HFC/ASC Fall Season and Camp

Hello HFC/ASC,

It is hard to believe but fall is just around the corner and it is time for soccer – we are all excited!  Our fall season starts next week with our week long camp (see below for more information).  Marc Hubbard, Southern NH Univ. Men's Soccer Coach,  will be taking over the helm as Director of Coaching and will be running camp this year.  He brings with him much experience and many great coaches.

Just a couple of reminders and notes:

Registration - You will not be able to register at camp as we have done in the past due to the online system so please register asap.    If you have not already registered online (new club registration system), please do so immediately.  Even if you brought forms to tryouts, or signed up online in the old system, you will still need to go online to register.  This is a new system that the club is using and we appreciate your patience while we work out the kinks.  This process will make it much easier for next season and families with multiple players.

 https://www.gotsport.com/asp/application/reg/Default.asp?ProgramID=9734&Type=PLAYER

 Other items of note:

·         Print Form - Please print out the form at end of registration process and bring it with you to camp.

·         Payment - You will be prompted to pay online.  You can either pay by credit card or mail in a check.  If you have already sent in your $100 but would prefer to pay the entire dues online, you can pick up your check for the $100 deposit at camp.  Please see Lisa Davidson (Treasurer).

·         Team Registration - The club has decided to use our Hampshire FC name for all Upper Club teams that will be playing in a league (U11 and up).  We are a regional club with kids from Amherst, Wilton, Milford, Merrimack, Peterborough, New Boston, etc. and want to continue to embrace players from outside Amherst.  We have not recently registered teams as Hampshire, but have kept the name on our logo, and want to again use the name.  The EDP and Tots programs will continue to run under the Amherst Soccer Club name.

·         Uniforms (U10-U14 teams) - Due to the flipping of names, we have made some slight changes to the current club logo.  This, in combination with our current uniform shorts being discontinued by Nike, has had a slight impact on uniform options.  This fall our red shirt will be long sleeves.  So, the full uniform package will include a white game jersey (short sleeves), red alternative game jersey (long sleeves), Nike shorts and Nike socks for $60.  You will be able to view sizes with samples that will be at camp the first two days.  Because the uniforms are only a slight variation, players who already have a uniform from past seasons can elect to purchase a new package, purchase new individual items, or stay with their current uniform.

·         Camp is for ALL players EDP and up and is Monday August 8th-12th, 9AM - 1PM.  Kids can be dropped off any time after 8:30.  Coaches will work with players from 9-12.  The time from 12-1 is lunch, free time, soccer games - monitored by high school students and adults.  Kids can stay for the hour or be picked up at noon.  Please bring:  bag lunch, soccer ball (and pump if you have one), cleats, shin guards, sunscreen, water.

Thanks,
