Alumni accolades and SNHU at Franklin Pierce on Sat

Hi HFC/ASC families-

The club was excited to see so many kids and parents playing soccer and equally as excited to see so many parents show up for our season end event that included our Annual General Meeting. The AGM is a chance for our members to come and hear the club’s financial report and a chance to ask the board and Director of Coaching questions they might not otherwise have a chance to ask.  Some things we did not touch upon but feel important we share with our members:

We would like to acknowledge the recent success of the Souhegan HS soccer program:

·         The girls varsity team won the state championship (Div II) with an exciting 2-1 OT win over perennial champs Hanover.  The varsity team had 14 players who came through the ASC/HFC program on the roster, including the top two point leaders.  The team also brought up two ASC/HFC freshmen for the playoffs.

·         Current and former players receiving accolades:  Carolyn Stone and Peyton Kent – 1st Team All-State, Shelby Belak – 2nd Team All-State, and Peyton Kent – Division 2 Tournament MVP.

·         The JV girls team went 9-2 and finished second in the JV tournament falling to Hanover 2-1.  The team consisted of 8  ASC/HFC girls, some who have played together for over 7 years.  The top 2 goal scorers for the JV team are ASC/HFC players.

·         The boys Varsity and JV teams also had a successful season and are proud to have a solid number of ASC/HFC players.

Also worth congratulations, the Wilton boys program recently defended their Div IV state title with the roster having 11 current and former ASC/HFC players, several of which earned post-season recognition.  Two of these players made the first team All State team with two others earning Honorable Mention.

Many HFC/ASC families recently enjoyed watching DOC Marc Hubbard’s Penmen win their game in the NCAA Men’s soccer tournament last Saturday at SNHU.  If anyone has not seen the Penmen you will enjoy their high quality of soccer.  They have advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals against rival Franklin Pierce.  The game is at Franklin Pierce this coming Saturday at 7:00 PM.  Field address: Sodexo Field 40 University Dr. Rindge NH 03461  See you there!

We would also like to remind everyone about our winter training at the Hampshire Dome in Milford starting in January however we do need people to sign up now. https://www.gotsport.com/asp/application/reg/Default.asp?ProgramID=11076&Type=PLAYER
